There are several Earth Day activities in the Sacramento area for families and individuals to help clean up the environment. Although for 2008, Earth Day falls on April 22, there are several events that surround this date.
The largest Earth Day event in Sacramento will be the festival sponsored by the Environmental Council of Sacramento. An estimated 8,000 to 10,000 people are expected to enjoy the one-day event at Southside Park. There will be more than 100 informational booths and exhibits, live entertainment from local bands and performers, organic and locally grown food sold at the mini farmers market, as well as an e-waste drop-off.
When: April 20, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
