What's Memorial Day Weekend without the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee? This large-scale festival features 100 artists who perform several types of jazz genres, including New Orleans funk, blues, classic jazz, swing, and zydeco.

This year, New Orleans' native son Kermit Ruffins headlines the jubilee. He's shown here playing his trumpet at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on May 1, 2008.

But if jazz isn't your thing, try heading to Cal Expo for the Sacramento County Fair. The family-friendly event highlights livestock, agriculture and cooking - don't forget to check out the Cookie Bake Off.

The fair will also feature entertainment, a demolition derby, and a carnival.
