The much-loved childrens book, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" written by Eric Carle, will be celebrating its 40th year anniversary.

When: March 21 at 2 p.m.
Where: Borders, 2339 Fair Oaks Blvd., Sac.

This family-friendly event will feature crafts and other activities for kids ages 3 to 9.

Young readers witness the adventures of an egg hatching into a ravenous caterpillar - who eats its way through strawberries, cherry pie, sausages, chocolate cake and other yummy items - and how it evolves in to a butterfly.
