Rowena Millado

Sacramento Guide Rowena T. Millado is the creative director for a local news web site managing its coverage of Sacramento news, sports, entertainment, health, politics, and business for the past eight years.

Previously, she was a business reporter for The Tennessean in Nashville, Tenn. (another River City), a general assignment reporter with The Oakland Tribune, and a sports writer for the former American Basketball League. Although, she hasn't written strictly for newspapers. She wrote consumer-driven articles - such as buyer's guides and online tutorials - for a now defunct dot.com company, as well as forays in marketing, digital advertising and communications with many Silicon Valley companies.

She studied journalism and business administration with a concentration in marketing at San Jose State University.

Before moving to Sacramento, I didn't know too much about the city. As I ventured out to find out more, I discovered that Sacramento is an explorer's kind of place.
