St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated all throughout Sacramento. From river cruises to block parties, there are plenty of options when you’re looking to have a good time this March.

Hornblower Cruises & Events – L Street Dock, 1206 Front St, Sacramento
Enjoy a one-hour family-friendly cruise featuring a face painter, balloon artist and more. Admire the beauty of the twin rivers as you relax and enjoy beverages. This is a great way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in a laid back way, enjoying it with friends or your entire family. Tickets are $20 and there are four cruise departure times.
St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl

Blue Cue, 1004 28th St, Sacramento
This free pub crawl kicks off the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day and features multiple destinations including: Blue Cue, Bar West, Red Rabbit, Cornerstone, Der Beirgarten and eleven others. It all begins at Blue Cue at 3:30pm and goes until 11pm. Enjoy a diverse array of food and drink available for purchase.

This traditional St. Patrick’s Day parade kicks off at 1pm in Old Sacramento, featuring over 1000 marchers. Irish dancers, bagpipers, marching bands and various representatives of the city will all be in attendance for this free community parade.

Firestone Public House, DeVere’s Irish Pub, MiX Downtown
Starting at 9am at DeVere’s Irish Pub, St. Patrick’s Day celebrations begin. The pub will remain upon until 2am. Firestone Public House opens for lunch at 11am and will launch a live music set by Nanchuck Taylor at 6pm. Finally, MiX Downtown will open at 3pm and have music and dancing beginning at 7pm. Traditional beer and Irish plates like pork kielbasa and corned beef & cabbage will be for sale.

Starlite Lounge, 1517 21st St, Sacramento
Irish band Will O’Mylar Trio will perform both traditional and modern Irish Music. Starting at 6pm, the music is happening at Sacramento’s Starlite Lounge, formerly the TownHouse Lounge. This event is free but all patrons must be aged 21+.
St. Patrick’s Day on the Delta King

Delta King Riverboat, 1000 Front Street, Sacramento
The well-regarded Delta King in Old Sacramento is hosting great live music, St. Patrick’s Day drink specials and Irish additions to its regular menu. Brunch begins at 7am every day, lunch at 11:30 and dinner at 5pm. When you’re done enjoying yourself on the riverboat, be sure to spend some time perusing the great shops and charming sights of Old Sacramento.

Natural Foods Co-op, 1900 Alhambra Blvd, Sacramento
Learn to create an authentic Irish menu at this cooking demonstration open to both co-op members and the general public. Cost is $35 for members and $45 general admission. The cooking class includes an Irish cheese plate, colcannon, beef & Guinness stew, soda bread biscuits and Irish bread pudding.
These are just a few of the highlights of St. Patrick’s Day events happening in and around Sacramento. For the little ones, be sure to visit a public library this month to read books available about this traditional holiday, or have a picnic at a local park featuring some corned beef sandwiches and root beer.
