WALK – The Sacramento Walking Sticks presents a 5K/10K walk. Strollers and wheelchairs are OK. Pets are not recommended. A light meal will be provided.

ZOO EVENT – The Sacramento Zoo will celebrate a Happy Newt Year in the reptile house. There will be education talks and shows at: 11 a.m. an Animal Encounter in the Discovery Room; and TBD Enrichment & Talks at 2:15 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.

SHOW – “Walking With The Dinosaurs: The Live Experience” will roar into Arco Arena.
When: Jan. 3, 7 p.m.; Jan. 4, 11 a.m and 7 p.m.; Jan. 5, 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Jan. 6, 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. (Doors open one hour before event.)

PHOTOGRAPHY – The growing changes in China will be exhibited in “China: Rivers of Change.” This photographic exhibit will be a joint project with the Appel Gallery and Viewpoint Photographic Center. A reception will be held at Viewpoint on Jan. 12, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
When: Jan. 4 to Feb. 2. Appel Gallery hours: Saturday and Sundays, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Viewpoint hours: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, noon to 4 p.m.; Wednesday, noon to 7:45 p.m.
