JULY 2 | WEDNESDAY

CONCERT – Fairytale Town will host weekly Wednesday entertainment with its Twilight Concert Series throughout July and August. Pacific Rhythms will kick off the series on July 2. Seating is first come, first served. Don’t forget to bring a blanket.
When: July 2, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Doors open 5:30 p.m.)
Location: Fairytale Town, 3901 Land Park Drive, Sac.
Cost: $10 adults and kids 12 and younger are free. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Capital Public Radio members get 2 for 1 tickets.

FESTIVAL – Fairytale Town brings the music, dance and culture of different cultures every Friday to Sunday throughout July at its International Festival.
When: July 2, noon and 2 p.m.

JULY 8 | TUESDAY

CONCERT – Sacramento blueman Mick Martin and The Blues Rockers perform at the Sacramento Zoo during its Music in the Zoo series. Low-baked folding chairs, blankets and picnics are welcome.
When: July 8, 6 p.m. (Gates open 5:30 p.m.)
Location: Sacramento Zoo, 3930 West Land Park Drive, Sac.
Cost: Members pay: $9 adult and $4 kids. Non-members pay: $12 adult and $6 kids (3-12). Kids 2 and younger are free.

WINE – The California State Fair Grape & Gourmet event showcases more than 600 wines which are California State Fair Medal Winners. Proceeds will benefit the California State Fair Scholarship Program. Event is for 21 and older.
When: July 10, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Location: Cal Expo, 1600 Exposition Blvd., Sac.

EPPIES RACE – Test your athletic prowess with Eppie’s Great Race which will be celebrating its 35th year. The race consists of a 5.82-mile run, 12.5-mile cycle and 6.35-mile paddle race.
When: July 19, 7:58 a.m. start time for adaptive divisions, 8 a.m. start time for ironpersons and other teams
Location: American River Parkway, Rancho Cordova and Sacramento
Cost: $80 ($90) all ironpersons, $80 ($95) junior team or free with pledges, $165 ($180) 2- or 3-person teams, $215 ($230) tandem kayak/recreational or canoe team of 4 persons, and $255 ($270) corporate team of three people or free with pledges.
