MARCH 1 | SATURDAY

ZOO – Get started with spring plantings – at the zoo! Besides animals, the Sacramento Zoo will have gardening experts and plants during its Bloomin’ Crazy Garden Festival and Plant Sale event.
When: March 1, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Sacramento Zoo
Cost: $9 general, $8.25 seniors and $6.50 kids 3-12. Free for kids 0-2 and members.

COMEDY – Funnyman Bill Burr will laugh it up at The Punch Line with Joe Derosa and Reggie Steele.

MUSIC – The Auburn Symphony will perform at the Mondavi Center. Performances include Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky.

LECTURE – National Book Award winner Richard Powers will hold a lecture.

MEDICINE – Medical expert Dr. Andrew Weil, who also authored The Future of Medicine, will speak about how to lead healthier lives.

MUSICAL – The California Musical Theatre presents the Tony-award winning musical-comedy “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”
When: March 5 to 16. No performance on March 10. Evening shows at 8 p.m. (except March 9, 7:30 p.m.). Afternoon matinees at 2 p.m. Complete schedule.

COMEDY – Last Comic Standing winner Dat Pham brings his comedy tour to Sacramento. Sam Bamm and Hasan Minhaj also performs.
