About The Campus
Founded as Sacramento State College in 1947 and in 1972 was changed to California State University, Sacramento. Although, it is still affectionately called Sacramento State or simply Sac State.

The 300-acre campus is surrounded with 3,000 trees, just like the downtown/midtown area. It located in the easternmost tip of East Sacramento and entry toward the Arden area. It is nearby the American River Parkway trails.

There are five residence halls on campus and each hall is staffed with residence coordinators and managers.

On campus housing consists the following room types:

  • Double Room (11’x15’): Is furnished for 2 residents and can be found in all five residence halls.
  • Triple Room (12’ x 20’): Is furnished for 3 residents and can be found in Sierra and Sutter halls. A $350 rent credit is applied per semester.
  • Deluxe Double Room (11’x15’): Has a connecting bathroom that can be shared between 2 to 4 residents. A $300 premium rental fee is assessed every semester. Found only in Desmond Hall.
  • Single Room (8’ x 11’): Is furnished for one resident. A $200 premium rental fee is assessed every semester. Found only in Sierra and Sutter halls.

Cost for living on campus can range from $8,500 to nearly $9,000 per academic year, depending on housing and meal options. Installment plans, although not automatic, are available.

Dining
A dining meal plan for the 2007-08 academic year is as follows:

  • Plan A (10 meals per week/1,260 credits) = $2,280 for school year
  • Plan B (15 meals per week/1,890 credits) = $2,716 for school year

Additional credits can be purchased as follows:

  • 25 credits: $46
  • 65 credits: $101
  • 90 credits: $135
  • 150 credits: $206
