Fairytale Town is a children’s dream come true. They can actually live out their favorite bedtime stories and nursery rhymes with life-sized, but kid-friendly areas. This is a great place for toddlers and preschoolers to come and explore the pint-sized play areas, like the Jack and Jill Hill or the block of swiss cheese. Older kids can enjoy The Children’s Theater and The Mother Goose Stage.

Funderland Park is a great little amusement park for the kiddies. Ideally for ages 2 to 12, kids can ride a roller coaster, trains, tea cups, a carousel or a log flume. There is a snack bar that sells everything from hot dogs to churros to coffee (to keep the adults on their toes).

Raging Waters Sacramento

Since Sacramento is hours away from the nearest ocean, what better way to get some aquatic fun than at Raging Waters Sacramento. Only open during the summer months, this water park has attractions for the young and old, from daring water slides to meandering water rides. A kiddie area has kid-friendly rides.

Sutter's Fort

Kids young and old can learn about Sacramento’s early history at Sutter’s Fort Historical State Park. This Midtown attraction is an actual fort, not a figurative one, with walls 2 feet thick and about 17 feet high. There are hands-on activities and scheduled events throughout the year.
