Celebrating Halloween in Sacramento

From , former About.com Guide

As the Sacramento weather starts to cool and nightfall comes earlier, we know that fall is here. And a great way to usher in the season is, of course, celebrating Halloween.

And celebrating this holiday in Sacramento can be as frightful or family-friendly as you want it to be.

For those adventurous folks who voluntarily want to get scared can visit the different Haunted Attractions in Sacramento. Now these attractions are not completely off limits to kids. Parents can check out the attraction's fright factor by visiting their photo and/or video gallery.

Of course for authenticity, Halloween goers can go the Sacramento Old City Cemetery for good old stroll among the headstones and grave sites.

For completely family-friendly events, ideal for the tiny tots, check out the Trick or Treating in Sacramento article. Get information on the annual Halloween celebrations at Fairytale Town and the Sacramento Zoo.

Fun for the whole family can be found at Sacramento Area Pumpkin Patches. Get completely into the fall swing on a hay ride, enjoying fall harvests and picking out your pumpkins and gourds.

Halloween falls on Friday, Oct. 31 this year.
