The California Veterans Memorial pays homage to California men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces.
Erected in 1998, a 30-foot granite obelisk is one of the tallest structures on the State Capitol Park grounds. Surrounding the etched obelisk are the different flags from the different branches of the military.
This memorial resides along N Street, between 13th and 14th streets. Remember, N Street is a one-way street that runs west to east. There's plenty of metered parking along N Street, yet finding a free space can be hard to find when there are events in and around the Capitol Building.
Just a few steps away is the California Firefighters Memorial.
