Description:

Fairytale Town is a 2.5-acre, whimsical children's park that contains 25 colorful children's play areas, including a children's theater and outdoor stage.

There are live animals to view, from Mary's Sheep to the Three Little Pigs.

Throughout the year, Fairytale Town hosts special public events like puppet shows, talent showcases, literacy celebrations and concerts.

It is right across the street from the Sacramento Zoo and a short walking distance to Funderland Park.

Hours:

Fall/winter hours (Nov. 1 to Feb. 28): 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, depending on weather.

Spring/summers hours (March 1 – Oct. 31): 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, depending on weather.

If you are still in the park at 4 p.m., you can stay until 5 p.m.

Open the following holidays: Martin Luther King Jr., President’s Day, and Veteran’s Day.

The park closes early for special events, such as the Midsummer Night’s Dream and Ice Cream Fantasy events or closed entirely for special events.

Admission:

Adults must be accompanied by a child to visit the park.

  • Adults: $4.25 (weekends and holidays), $3.75 weekdays.
  • Children (3-12): $4.25 weekends and holidays, $3.75 (weekdays).
  • Children (2 and younger): free.
  • Members: free.

Multi-park Admission:

Guests can combine admission to both Fairytale Town and the Sacramento Zoo.

  • Adults: $13 (weekends and holidays), $12 weekdays.
  • Children (3-12): $10.50 weekends and holidays, $9.50 (weekdays).
  • Children (2 and younger): free.
  • Members: free.

Membership:

Not required for entry. A 12-month membership gives access to a number of family members free entrance (on most days) to the park. Other perks include, special birthday party prices, discounts, and announcements. Membership levels depend on family size and range from $35 to $75 per year. Care giver program available.

Parking:

Free on-street parking as well as in Land Park. Parking can get scarce on the weekends, so plan accordingly.

Park Rental:

The community can host private events at the park, from a children’s birthday party at a designated area or for weddings and family reunions throughout the whole park.
