Happy Garden restaurant in South Sacramento serves up Hong Kong style dim sum daily. They serve a wide variety of dim sum – from beef tripe to hargow, from crispy taro turnover to sweet egg cream bun - at good prices. Some items are only served on the weekends, like mango pudding, beef tender stew and pot stickers. It’s a large restaurant, but can fill up very fast on Sundays so expect a long wait. They also have a handy dim sum pictoral at the table near the entrance so you can see what you are ordering before you buy.

New Canton Restaurant
This is a popular dim sum lunch spot for the area workers along Broadway. New Canton is known for its authentic Chinese cuisine and their dim sum is just as tasty. They offer a good variety of items at reasonable prices. Rumor has it that New Canton serves up pretty good chicken feet, if you have the nerve to try it. This is a popular place so timing is everything. Keep in mind that during dim sum hours, they close the first floor and open up the second floor. So just go through the doors and head for the stairs.

Capital Tea Garden
Great little dim sum house in the midtown/downtown area. They have great dim sum with great prices. They also provide a full menu that includes items that are not cooked with MSG. Granted, this isn't the most fancy restaurant, but you won’t care because the food is good. This may be a small restaurant, but it is big on flavor.
